Hey y'all! My name is Katie, and I'm so excited that you have come to learn more about God and studying His Word.
My passion for Bible study came in the year 2012. I had faced some life circumstances that really made me search out and find comfort and peace. I grew up in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and I had heard about Precept Ministries International lots and lots of times. The Lord led me to Google that ministry, and that began my journey of inductive Bible study. I found Kay Arthur's Precepts for Life on television, and I was immediately hooked. She was going through the book of Jeremiah, and I was so encouraged by the things I was learning and studying.
Through the guidance of Precepts for Life and Kay Arthur, I learned how to study my Bible. Bible study became the thing that I would go to any time I felt overwhelmed or discouraged in life. I began to realize how great and mighty our God truly is, and I learned that I could not live without Him and His Word.
After inductively studying several books of the Bible, I began to read through a book that had been on my bookshelf for years, Women of the Bible by Ann Spangler and Jean E. Syswerda. I used the techniques I had learned from Kay Arthur, and I applied them to my study of these women in the Bible. About halfway through that study, the Lord began impressing on my heart to teach the women in my church about the women in the Bible. I completed that study and surrounded the Lord's words to me in prayer. I began teaching a monthly women's Bible study at my church January of 2014.
In the Fall of 2016, the Lord began to work on my heart again. I knew that He was calling me to branch out in my Bible studies for women, and offer them on a wider scale. Through lots of prayer and consideration, the Lord led me to start this blog. I want nothing more than for others to develop a heart and a passion for Bible study. We live in a tough, tough world. It is so easy to stray away from the Scriptures and to do the things that seem normal to society. But God's Word demands different. He demands that we live our lives to glorify Him. And how are we to know what glorifies the Lord, unless we know what His Word says? God gave us 66 books, and He expects us to hide them in our hearts, and to meditate on them day and night (Joshua 1:8, Psalm 119:11).
I pray that the Lord uses this blog for His glory, and I pray that you will be encouraged with the Word of God as you study it with me.
